St. James Massage Therapy Clinic

Massage Treatment for a Variety of Ailments

During our 20 years of operation, we’ve eased the discomfort of clients suffering from a variety of ailments such as:

Muscle fatigue

In turn, our treatment enhances a general feeling of well-being.

Our Services

Massage is a safe approach that manipulates soft tissue (skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments) through manual stimulation using various massage techniques. These techniques may include light strokes to deep targeted pressure and are intended to maintain, rehabilitate, augment physical function, relieve/prevent dysfunction and pain, and enhance the well-being of the client.

Swedish Massage

Is a gentle form of massage therapy often associated with relaxation and energizing the body. It involves long strokes, kneading, deep circular motions, vibrations and tapping.

Deep Tissue Massage

Is a more intense form of massage therapy targeted at muscle damage from injuries or just sore muscles. It involves slower, more-focused strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

Trigger Point Massage

Is a more focused massage targeting tight muscles fibers and knots. It is beneficial for relieving pain from overused or injured muscles.

Sports Massage

Depending on the desired results, this technique leverages a combination of all of the above therapies. It's geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release was specifically designed to relax the fascia throughout your whole body. Because tension in fascia can have an affect and/or cause pain in other areas, your therapist may treat other areas of your body to positively effect your treatment outcome.

Other Therapies

We also over other forms a therapeutic massage. If you’re looking for a particular massage technique, please mention it at the time of booking, as some therapists specialize in these forms of massage.

During and After a Massage

In general a massage should not be painful or uncomfortable. Some discomfort is expected during more aggressive massages targeting problems areas. However… If at any point during a massage you feel uncomfortable please speak up. By voicing the discomfort your therapist will be able to adjust the technique to ensure your massage is enjoyable.

It is common to feel sore the next day from massage due to the manipulation of the body. Stretches, Cold compresses or Heat can provide relief from the discomfort. Feel free to call the clinic with any questions or concerns after your massage, so we can provide assistance in seeking home remedies for the soreness.

“I feel like I can float after my massage. Having a regular massage does improve my health and wellbeing overall. Recommend this place if you are looking for excellent massage therapists but book early because this place is very popular. 5 Stars!”
